Host the game..

So here we are with hosting the game from your own machine and making other players to join your room to play with you..

Need some things to checkout in your game folder before you are hosting a game because you are going to host a promod server.So you need to have some mods to host your game if you are hosting or playing the game online for the first time..If you have played online in a game server before,this is not relevant to you guys.Because you have already downloaded some mods to your game folder.

You can check this in following steps..
Just navigate to your game folder and check out for the folder name "mods"..

Warning : Dont get confused about my game folder.. Because it consists of some other stuff.eg:patches for the game,key code generator and all..so your game folder will be different from mine..

Check inside that folder..You will see my folder with about 122 mods in it..You will automatically download different mods when you are joining to a game.

So now lets go with hosting..Follow the steps and you are done...

Step 1: Start Game Ranger(GR)..You will see the Host button on top of the right hand corner. 

Step 2: Click on the Host button and you will get a dialog box like this...

As you can see you can add a description to display on the server list,you can add a password and limit the number of players to the server according to your wish and according to your connection speed.

Step 3: Click OK and you will navigated to the following dialog box..

Now you can see your game room you started..Wait for some time until some other players join your room.When another player joined you can see the player name below your name.If you added a password to your room in previous step keep in mind to add the password in the description or give it to the players who you need to join.Then click on the start button bottom.

Step 4: Then you will see the game menu loads on to your desktop..We need to apply a mod before starting the server..You will find a menu Option call Mods in the list..Just click on it.

Step 5: Then you will see the list of mods which we find in the mods folder inside the game folder.

Keep in mind that one mo is different from the other.eg:some mods have high graphics,low graphics,bang some classes e.t.c.Choose one from the list and click launch or simply double click on it..

Step 6: Then you will be directed again to the main menu.If the mod applied correctly,you can see the menu as in the following picture,with a menu option call "About promod" on the top.

 Step 7: After you have directed to the above menu,you can find the menu option call "Start New Server " in the list.Click on it.

 Step 8: That click will take you to the server options..

As you can see you can change the game mode(Team death match,free for all,Sabotage e.t.c).We will talk about Search and Destroy,probably because it is the mode that I play and most of the tournaments based on. Keep the other options as it is and make sure to keep the state of PunkBuster  as "No".

PunckBuster services are mostly used to catch the cheaters,but because of a update problems other players will also be kicked.If you need you can make it "Yes".

You can change the map according to your wish but there are 5 standard maps that will be used for promod game play.

• Crash
• City Streets
• Strike
• Crossfire
• Backlot

Step 9: From the "Game Mode Settings" you can change Bomb plant time,Round switch and some other stuff.

But I recommend you to keep those settings as it is and click back button.

Step 10: Then click on the Start and you are done..It will take to the game or it starts your server..

Warning:

It takes some time to load your map and load the game.As soon as you start the game other players will join the game.But to start the game you have to type a command in your console.I will publish them in my next post..
